Album: Thinking of You This Christmas
Once a year, every year
People take the time to look outside
They open up the doors of their hearts
And come out shining
Tell me why you and I
Act that loving only once a year?
With so many lonely people all around
It seems like such bad timing
And tell me why is it we only hear
Of peace and good will at Christmas?
Doesn't anybody think
That it ought to get equal time?
With all the hearts that are broken
The words left unspoken
The time to share that's never found
Maybe we should have
Just a little more Christmas
I believe we need
Just a little more Christmas
Tell me why we can't have
A little more Christmas all year 'round?
Is is snow, mistletoe
Or just singing 'round the yuletide fire
That makes us feel
Like reaching out to one another?
You and me, could it be
Deep within we feel a need to care?
Think of all the times we've let our hands
Stay in our pockets and smother
And tell me why is it we only hear
Of peace and good will at Christmas?
Doesn't anybody think
That it ought to get equal time?
With all the hearts that are broken
The words left unspoken
The time to share that's never found
Maybe we should have
Just a little more Christmas
I believe we need
Just a little more Christmas
Tell me why we can't have
A little more Christmas all year 'round?
Don't you remember
The child in the manger
And what He later taught us to do?
Will it occur the next time
We encounter a stranger?
The Child was a stranger, too
So tell me why is it we only hear
Of peace and good will at Christmas?
Doesn't anybody think
That it ought to get equal time?
With all the hearts that are broken
The words left unspoken
The time to share that's never found
Maybe we should have
Just a little more Christmas
I believe we need
Just a little more Christmas
Tell me why we can't have
A little more Christmas all year 'round?
